FOLLY BEACH — Tucked through an alleyway between Coconut Joe's and The Bounty Bar, the Charleston area's first beachside brewpub started serving customers in late December. Since then, seating that is visible from Center Street has been drawing locals back to the fully outdoor destination offering easy-drinking beers and a laid-back atmosphere.
Revelry Brewing Folly Beach is now open at 13B Center St., serving Poke the Bear, Lefty Loosey and other craft beers that have become popular over the years at its downtown Charleston location.
A full food menu of 10 to 12 items is currently in the works through a partnership with The Bounty Bar, owners of downtown's The Royal American.

Revelry Brewing Co. started serving Charleston at 10 Conroy St. in 2014. Its patronage has grown in the years since, as brewery-goers flock to the downtown destination for its refreshing craft beers and rooftop sunset views. Ownership previously operated an affiliated taproom specializing in sour and wild barrel-aged beer called The Hold before shutting it down in June 2022.

Opening a second location — one based on Folly Beach specifically — has been years in the making, ownership said.
"We've been looking for a place out there for five or six years," co-owner Sean Fleming said. "(We) just kept putting the pieces together, and it finally came to fruition."

Three new beers have been brewed for the Folly Beach location: Tourist Trap is a tropical lager, Beach Haus is a pilsner and 2 Ft & Choppy is a session IPA with a name that hints at Folly Beach's surfing conditions. Beers are reasonably priced, so locals can appreciate the space in the offseason, Fleming said.
Revelry Brewing Folly Beach is currently open noon-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon-8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, though hours will expand in the future. For more information, visit revelrybrewingco.com.
