The Berkeley Boys Basketball team improved to 12-0 on the season with a convincing win Jan. 4 at Summerville.

The Stags jumped on the Green Wave right from the get-go and rolled to a 94-49 win in The Fire House.

Berkeley outscored Summerville 24-16 in the opening quarter. After taking a 50-26 lead into the half, the Stags outscored the Wave 37-12 in the third quarter before easing off the gas.

Center Ishan White led the charge, scoring a game-high 25 points. White scored 14 of those points in the opening quarter. Blake Southard added 13 points for Berkeley while senior DJ Chisolm chipped in 10 points.

No Summerville players scored in double digits. Seniors Andre Banks and Mark Mazyck both scored 8 points to lead the Green Wave. Fellow senior Cameron Champaign finished with 6 points.

White, Southard and Hakeem Meggett all hit multiple shots from three-point range while Summerville went 3 of 11 from that range.

Berkeley opens its region slate Jan. 8 with a game at Wando.

A night after beating Summerville, Berkeley lost for the first time this season, 73-65, to Cardinal Newman.

Chisolm had 24 points to lead the Stags, while White added 16 points. Cam Fordham chipped in nine points.
