The 47th Sertoma Football Classic will ignite the next football season in early August.

The Classic is set for Aug. 10-11 at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium in Charleston.

Berkeley County programs Cane Bay and Timberland will each get a pair of quarters beneath the lights on opening night while city rivals Stratford and Goose Creek will also get two periods on the gridiron on night two.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the first contest kicks off at 5:30 p.m. each day. There will be six matchups on Thursday and five on Friday.

Ticket sales open up on July 14. They are $12 for ages 6 and up. They can be bought online or purchased from individual cheer squads.

Contests slated for Thursday are North Charleston vs. Northwood Academy (2 qtrs), Cane Bay vs. St. John’s (2 qtrs), First Baptist vs. Military Magnet (1 qtr), Palmetto Christian Academy vs. Military Magnet (1 qtr), Oceanside Collegiate vs. Timberland (2 qtrs) and West Ashley vs. Stall (2 qtrs).

On Friday, Burke and Charleston Math & Science (2 qtrs) start the day followed by Baptist Hill vs. Garrett (2 qtrs), Stratford vs. Pinewood Prep (2 qtrs), Porter-Gaud vs. Academic Magnet (2 qtrs) and Bishop England vs. Goose Creek (2 qtrs).
