Timberland’s Amiyah Ferguson had six points in a win over C.E. Murray.

Senior Jay’la Evans had 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals to power Timberland High School’s girls to a 40-31 victory over C.E. Murray High School on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The Lady Wolves (2-0) also got eight points and eight rebounds from senior Elajah Allen and six each from sophomore Kyla Rembert and eighth-grader Amiyah Ferguson. Senior center Cheyenne Padgett grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Berkeley boys 67 Ashley Ridge 50

Guard Cameron Fordham poured in 21 points to lead three players in double figures as Berkeley High School’s boys basketball team pulled away from visiting Ashley Ridge High School on Monday, Dec. 3.

The Stags, ranked No. 6 in Class 5A by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association, outscored the Foxes by 15 in the final period to coast home with a 67-50 victory in their home opener.

Forwards Ishan White and Trevur Smalls chipped in 20 and 11 points respectively for Berkeley (2-0).

Guard DJ Chisolm added eight points and Hakeem Meggett scored seven points.

In the Berkeley-Ashley Ridge girls game, the Lady Foxes pulled out a 43-32 victory, dropping the Lady Stags to 0-2.

Jefferson Davis boys 51 St. John’s Christian 35

Jefferson Davis outscored St. John’s Christian’s boys by 18 points in the second half to hand the visiting Cavaliers a 51-35 loss on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The Cavaliers fell to 1-2.

Dylan Parsons led SJCA with eight points while Corey Moraux and NaiRyan Bookert chipped in six apiece.
