The annual Ellington Elite youth football camp is slated for June 28 at Berkeley High School.

The camp is free for players 6-16 and will feature former Berkeley standouts and NFL players Bruce Ellington and Andre Ellington. Camp will run from 9 a.m. to Noon.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and lunch will be provided.

A health combine will also be provided to camp participants for free. This will include diabetes testing, blood pressure checks, vision testing, BMI measurements, endoscopy consulting, and nutritional coaching.

Orvin Memorial

The annual Herbie Orvin Memorial golf tournament is set for June 23 at Berkeley Country Club.

Registration opens at 1 p.m., followed by lunch at 1:30 p.m., and a shotgun start at 3 p.m.

Cost is $60 for individuals or $240 for four-man teams in the captain’s choice tournament.

Hole and cart sponsorships are also available for $100 and $50 respectively.

There will be prizes awarded for first and second place and also longest drive and closest to the pin.

Proceeds benefit the Herbie Orvin Memorial Fund and Timberland High School Athletics.

Each year, the Herbie Orvin Foundation presents two $500 scholarships to deserving seniors associated with the THS baseball and softball programs.

Free football

Cane Bay High School’s 7 on 7’s for high school football teams began this month. Typically a dozen high schools from the area compete in preparation for the season.

Fans can take in free football on June 20 and 27 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Cane Bay.

CSU tickets for USC game on sale

Tickets for Charleston Southern’s football game at South Carolina on Sept. 7 are on sale and available for purchase online at The Buccaneers play the Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium at Noon in Columbia.

The game will be carried live on the SEC Network.

Tickets are on sale for $50 apiece. Limited quantities are available in the Charleston Southern section.

Tickets are available at a first-come, first-serve basis.

Softball all-stars

The Coaches Association of Women’s Sports’ North-South all-star games are June 19-20 at USC Aiken.

Berkeley outfielder Brooklynn Stueness and catcher Haylee Wilkerson will suit up for the Class 5A-2A-1A South team.

Stueness batted .493 with 25 RBIs while Wilkerson finished with a .450 batting average and 29 RBIs.

The 5A-2A-1A South will take on the 5A-2A-1A North before squaring off against either Class 4A-3A South or Class 4A-3A North.

The squad with a 2-0 mark wins the all-star week.

Battery soccer camp

The Charleston Battery is offering multiple youth soccer camps this summer. Sessions for camps for boys and girls age 7-13 are scheduled for June 17-21, July 15-19 and Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at MUSC Health Stadium. Cost is $195 per session. A five-week skills camp for boys and girls age 7-18 who are not CBSC players is also scheduled for June 24 through Aug. 1 at the CBSC Summerville Complex. Cost for the five-week camp is $150.
