Former Berkeley High School football player Joshua Simmons was named to the 2018 All-America Team for the second time.

Simmons, who just finished his senior season at Limestone College, was selected to the American Football Coaches Association Division II All-America Team earlier.

The two-time South Carolina Hall of Fame Blanchard-Rogers Award Finalist tallied 93 total tackles in his final season with Limestone to go with two interceptions, two forced fumbles and eight pass breakups.

Simmons led the South Atlantic Conference and finished sixth in the nation with 67 solo tackles. He ranked second in the conference in total tackles and tackles per game and was in the top 10 in both pass breakups and forced fumbles.

Simmons finished with 15 career interceptions and returned four for touchdowns. He is Limestone’s all-time career leader with 167 solo tackles and is second all-time with 224 total tackles.
