St. John’s Christian Academy dropped to .500 on the football season with a setback on the road in the Midlands on Friday.

The Cavaliers fell to 3-3 with a 44-30 loss to Northside Christian in Lexington. SJCA, which has lost two in a row, will try to get back on track on Friday at homecoming against Faith Christian.

Northside Christian scored the lone two touchdowns in the second half after the score was tied 30-30 at halftime.

Quarterback Mikey Smith had 296 total yards and ran for three touchdowns for the Cavaliers. Cooper Moorer chipped in a rushing touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, linebackers Collin Robertson and Moorer combined to make 33 stops.

After Faith Christian, the Cavaliers host Wardlaw on Oct. 13.
