Moncks Corner residents enjoyed the annual Christmas parade a day early on Friday evening to avoid Saturday’s rain and chilly temperatures. Thousands lined Main Street to watch colorful, brightly lit floats pass by as their riders waved and wished everyone a Merry Christmas.
St. Stephen Evangelical Church was selected as Best Float. Cavy Land (for Cavaliers) was selected as Most Creative, they transported the St. John's Christian Academy Pom Pom Squad. First Citizens Bank was picked as the float with the Most Christmas Spirit.
Several Omar Drifter riders wowed crowds with their decorated motorized drift trikes as they spun and whirled down the street. Music Man’s Bar-B-Que’s float participants performed live music as they walked along. Finally the South Carolina State University Marching Band’s rhythmic drumbeat could be heard from blocks away as the band marched past cheering fans.
