Students and their parents are invited to visit St. Stephen Elementary School for a Summer Book Distribution event on June 14 to begin 10 a.m. and end 12:30 pm. Books received will be free. Books are available to rising kindergarten through grade 12 students.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity for students to receive a head start on learning. The books will be on subjects the students will learn in their upcoming new grade levels.

This event will also be available at other schools located throughout Berkeley County. If more information is needed, contact Rosalind Banks at 843-567-2813.

Sunset Memorial Cemetery

Any contributions to assist in the maintenance of Sunset Memorial Cemetery located on highway 45 East within the town of St. Stephen will be greatly appreciated.

Each gravesite currently sold for $400 each is the only source of income toward the upkeep of the cemetery. The sale of gravesites alone doesn’t cover all of the expenses of maintenance and beautification. If you can’t contribute, volunteers for landscaping would be greatly appreciated.

The grass needs to be mowed at least twice per month, mulching is needed, tree branches trimmed and a layer of gravel to cover the road within the cemetery. Any contributions are tax deductible. Mail all contributions to Sunset Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 787, St. Stephen, SC 29479.

Any fund donations or your time as a volunteer towards the maintenance of Sunset Memorial Cemetery are greatly appreciated.
