Timberland’s Michelle Beauford finished with 20 points in the win.
“The team was working well together to capture an early lead,” Timberland Head Coach Cleve Touchberry said. “We played aggressive defense to maintain that lead throughout the game.”
Airport refused to go down without a fight as they altered their game plan to outscore THS 12-11 in the beginning of the second half.
Still the lady Wolves maintained an 8-point lead going into the final quarter before breaking away with a seven-point run, knocking down 17 to Airport’s six in the final minutes of play.
“We started out strong and we wanted to finish strong,” Fayall said. “It’s always great to get a nice lead and win with a big score.”
Despite the 66-48 win, the Lady Wolves fell short in their following game, losing to the Myrtle Beach Seahawks.
This non-league challenge between the Seahawks and the visiting Lady Wolves saw Myrtle Beach’s squad win 66-44.
