Swicord golf tournament Saturday

The Moncks Corner Lions Club is sponsoring the sixth annual Josh Swicord Memorial Golf Tournament at Berkeley County Club on Saturday (May 17).

Josh Swicord died of a brain tumor at the age of 19. The tournament is held in his memory. It has raised over $5,000 each year to support college scholarships for Berkeley High School students.

The four-person Captain’s Choice tournament will have a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for low gross, low net, and closest to the pin. The entry fee of $50 for club members and $60 for non-members covers green fees, carts, food, beverages, awards and mulligans.

The Lions Club is also seeking donations of cash, gifts, and gift certificates. Last year over 50 individuals and businesses made contributions.

Entry forms are available at the Berkeley Country Club. The deadline for entry is Thursday. For more information call 761-1566.
