Services were held April 11 at Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church in Bonneau, with the Rev. Don L. Shaw and the Rev. Dr. Julius Barnes officiating. Burial, directed by Gethers Funeral Home, was at the church cemetery.
Mr. Rollerson, also known as "Bouncer", the son of Mary Lee Rollerson Swinton and John Swinton Sr., was born Sept. 29, 1955. He received his education in the Berkeley County School System.
Mr. Rollerson was employed as a brick mason. He was a member of Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church. He was also a member of the Forty-One Brotherhood.
His best friend and cousin, Robert Lee Wilson preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Elijah L. Rollerson Jr. of Buffalo, NY; a daughter, Shaunita Rollerson of Buffalo; his mother, Mary Lee Swinton of St. Stephen; three grandchildren, Savion Rollerson, Trinity Thomas and Amiyah Rollerson, all of Buffalo; a sister, Vernell Shirley Swinton of St. Stephen; seven brothers, John (Anna) Swinton, Joe (Charlene) Swinton, David (Wendy) Swinton, Benjamin (Faye) Swinton, James Swinton and Kendrick (Lashunda) Swinton, all of St. Stephen, and Raymond (Melissa) Swinton of Eutawville, S.C.; six aunts, Maebell (Willie) House, Dorothy White and Rebecca Swinton all of New York, Victoria B. Anderson, Rebecca R. Middleton and Estelle R. Wilson, all of St. Stephen; three uncles, Leroy Swinton of New York, Ernest (Mildred) Brown of Alvin, S.C., and Ervin (Odessa) Brown of Atlanta; his fiancé, Williester Jones of St. Stephen; and other family.
