Laneta Alene Wells of Cordesville, wife of James R. Wells, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010. She was 71.
Born on Jan. 6, 1939, in Beckley, W.VA., she was the daughter of Alonzo Ray Anderson and Sibyl Jessin Keener. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Julie Leedham and her husband, Dennis, of Temecula, CA, Robin Cheever and her husband, Donald, of Cordesville, Daniel Wells Sr. of Cordesville, Cathy Bowers of Cordesville, and Jimmy Wells and his wife, Tricia, of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Sharril Kay Hutchinson of Cordesville, and Deborah Wells and her husband, Wayne, of Cordesville; and a brother, Jerry Edens and his wife, Jean, of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Ray Anderson and Billy Richard Edens.
Services were held Feb. 8 at Bethel Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner.
