Fair opens tomorrow

Coastal Carolina Fair patrons enjoy sunny ride on swings and more than 60 other rides on opening day on Oct. 27.

The Coastal Carolina Fair opens tomorrow at the Exchange Park in Ladson for a first-time ever 11-day run. The show will continue this year through Sunday Nov. 4.
Planned entertainment this year is Paul Revere & the Raiders, the Marshall Tucker Band, Jo Dee Messina, Little Texas, The Oak Ridge Boys, the Village People, Edens Ridge and American Idol’s Lauren Alaina.
The stage will also feature The Tams and The Embers, Hypnotist Mark Yuziak, The Lumberjack Show and comedian James Gregory.
Other events and shows include the American Bull Riders Tour as well as the popular agriculture area, animal barn and horse shows. The popular Flower Show is planned for two parts: First show – Oct. 25-29; second show Oct 30-Nov. 4.
The annual event draws thousands from the Lowcountry and beyond. The proceeds benefit the charities of the Exchange Club of Charleston.
Fireworks shows are nightly. Sunday through Thursday the show will be at 8:45 p.m. and Friday and Saturday nights the show is at 10 p.m.
Tickets prices in advance and at the gate, are respectively, Children 6-12 – $4 and $5; Adults – $6 and $8; Hand Stamp ticket – $17 and $20; Ride Coupon Book – $17 and $20.
The Exchange Park is located on Hwy. 78 in Ladson. From I-26 take exits 205A or 203. Parking is free.
