The Berkeley County Bar Association is volunteering a Saturday a month to Berkeley County Habitat for Humanity.

The kickoff was Saturday, Feb. 11, when a group of attorneys, judicial law clerks, and paralegals spent a day painting alongside other volunteers and the family who will soon have a new house.

Christy Fargnoli with Clawson and Staubes, LLC commented at the end of the day: "You start the day thinking that you are bringing a blessing to someone else.  As the day goes on, you realize that you are the one who is truly being blessed. "

The Berkeley County Bar Association is comprised of 94 attorneys.

Bar Vice President Shaheena Bennett said, "Berkeley County attorneys have a long history of giving back to their community with pro bono (free) legal services for abused and neglected children, and those in prison.  The Bar has also decided to step up its volunteer work for the poor."
