?Dear Editor:
It is past time for consideration to be given to the citizens of the northern area of Berkeley County as far as industry growth is concerned. For much too long we have had to drive to the opposite end of the county to get decent jobs. That is not fair!
We pay taxes like everyone else, and feel that we should have access to employment just as everyone else. When new industries search for sites, or consider Berkeley County as a possible location, why is it that Berkeley North is never considered? There is ample property, existing facilities that could be use, and lots and lots of citizens in this area of the county that would love to work at home and not have to travel an hour or more to work.
Opportunities for growth should be spread throughout the county and not just on one end. Be fair about it and take all areas into consideration for potential growth. County government officials are expecting our votes and we are expecting you to work for us!
