Aaron Copeland of St. John’s Christian Academy won third place in the Biological Science junior division at the recent SCISA State Science Fair held in Orangeburg.

“Marley and Me” by John Grogan, the book choice for One Book Berkeley, was the inspiration for Sangaree Intermediate School’s first dog walk, held Feb. 9 at the school. Fifty-two dogs entered the walk and brought 116-plus people with them.
Judges for the event included Ramona Grimsley of the Berkeley County Libraries, and representatives from SPCA and Petsmart. Categories for judging included the hairiest, biggest, smallest, best walker on a leash, best groomed, loudest and most fit.
