Local students earn national honor




Timberland High School seniors Joye Mills and Tichinia Graham are the recipients of the 2008 DECA National Marketing Education Honor Award.  


This award, given annually by DECA, a national association of marketing students, recognizes achievement in academic excellence, leadership skills, involvement in DECA, and school and community service.  


The award recipients must be DECA members in their senior year of high school with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better for each of the high school semesters.  


The Marketing Education instructor and DECA chapter advisor at Timberland High School is Meredith Bell.  Joye is the daughter of Kenneth and Terri Mills.  Tichinia is the daughter of Herbert and Feda Graham.
