Charleston Southern makes prestigious list

Charleston Southern University has been named to America’s 100 Best College Buys for the eighth consecutive year, and America’s Best Christian Colleges for the 14th consecutive year.
The annual lists are released by Institutional Research and Evaluation Inc.
America’s 100 Best College Buys identifies outstanding colleges across the country offering high quality educational environments at the lowest possible cost.
“This is the 17th year we have identified the 100 best college buys,” said Lewis T. Lindsey Jr., president of the consulting firm. “Ratings are based exclusively on facts and not personal opinion that can skew results.
“America’s 100 Best College Buys® is straightforward and understandable. All institutions, public and private, can be fairly compared on the basis of the academic profile of their most recent entering freshman class and the cost of tuition, fees, room and board.”
The cost of a year at the average college or university has reached $35,691 based upon the results of the 22nd Annual National College Survey of 1,447 institutions. Charleston Southern University’s cost for 2012-2013 is $29,800.
Other South Carolina universities named to this year’s list are Anderson University, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, University of South Carolina and Winthrop University.
America’s Best Christian Colleges® identifies colleges and universities providing the highest quality education in a Christian environment.
Other South Carolina schools named to the Best Christian Colleges list are Anderson University, North Greenville University and Presbyterian College.
