Palmetto Pride, USDA Forest Service, BCWS, and Keep South Carolina Beautiful are all teaming up to give Berkeley County neighborhoods, playgrounds, waterways, church grounds, parks, and waterways a good cleanup.
We need you, your family, your church, neighborhood, school, civic groups, and organizations to pitch in, pick up, and put it in the receptacles. There will be challenges for the event and winners will receive a donation to their school or organization or a community could receive a beautification grant.
Palmetto Pride will furnish the bags and equipment … what more could you ask? On the last day, May 10, the cleanup will concentrate on the national forest. The initial gathering place will be Huger Recreation Park off Highway 402, around 8:30 a.m., where Palmetto Pride will hand out trash bags, safety vests, and work gloves. You will be directed to an area to work, or you can tell us where you want to work. Around lunch time head on back to the park trade in your work tools for a free lunch.
Sign up today and plan to have a great time working together. For information please call 1-877-725-7733 or visit online at www.palmettopride.org. Registration forms are available at this office or on line, please sign up your family, group, church, or community today! See you there.
Nature Adventure Outfitters will guide a kayaking trip into the Wambaw Swamp Wilderness on April 26 at 10 a.m. and finish up about 2 p.m.
