Cup 'o Joe

A Super reason to party

It's nearly the end of football season.

A final battle between the NFL's newest dynasty, the New England Patriots, and the underdog with a chance at one of history's greatest upsets, the New York Giants, will meet in the Super Bowl Feb. 3.

The Patriots have a chance to be the first NFL team in history to go 19-0 and set one of professional sports most astounding records.

The Giants are a team who no one imagined would rack up seven consecutive road wins and beat the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs to make a trip to Arizona.

Both teams have a chance to do something special, which will no doubt make this year's Super Bowl a highly viewed event.

Although the Super Bowl is always something special to look forward to, for many fans like myself, there is a sadness in the air as the final game of one of America's favorite pastimes is played and a season is brought to a close.

But fret not football fans!

In this time of sadness we rejoice, with the yearly tradition of the Super Bowl Party.

Millions of Americans and people all over the world are already planning their Super Bowl fiesta.

Fans from different teams will put aside their differences and gather together to grunt and cheer for the team they would like to see victorious in one of professional sports most watched broadcasts.

More often than not, the real fans are in the den or living room watching the action, while everyone else is in the kitchen indulging in a Super Bowl of eating or drinking.

In many cases, finger foods are displayed in decadent fashion atop the living room table directly in front of the television so one will miss a moment of the action.

The Super Bowl Party is probably the least stressful party anyone can throw. So long as the game is on, everyone is usually happy, and the more the merrier.

Friends, family and even co-workers can join together and enjoy watching the big game.

If you or your friends don't feel like playing host for the big game, it's not a problem. Bars and restaurants have open invitations for the masses so that they might enjoy football's finale with fellow fans.

Even though this year's NFL season will soon come to a conclusion, join together with your fellow football fans and have good time watching the big game.
