Hanson, Kennedy exchange vows

Sarah Marie Hanson and Charles Earle Kennedy, both of Pasadena, Calif., were married on March 21, 2009 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, Minn. The Rev. Jerry Sweat of Beach United Methodist Church in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., performed the 6 p.m. service.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Vern Hanson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hanson of Minneapolis, Minn., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hanson of Greeley, Colo.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Kennedy III of Pinopolis.

The matron of honor was Megan Backman, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Kendall, Miranda Stewart, Jean Wiitata, Missy Lein, Jennifer Moore and the Rev. Sophie Draffin, all friends of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Helen Neely and the flower girl was Diana Neely, nieces of the groom. The ring bearer was John Neely, nephew of the groom.

The best man was Edward Kennedy, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Teddy Kennedy, brother of the groom, Rod Neely, brother-in-law of the groom, and Nate Moore and George Ratchford, friends of the groom.

The musicians were Alan Armstrong, guitar and vocals, and Bob Cavalieri, piano. Scripture readers were Carroll Neely, sister of the groom, and Ryan White, friend of the bride. Ushers were Christopher Jackson and Brian Jackson, cousins of the bride. The bride’s attendant was Alethia White, friend of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Seattle Pacific College and will graduate from Fuller Seminary in June. She is presently serving an internship as a hospital chaplain.

The groom is a graduate of Clemson University and is attending Fuller Seminary.

The couple will live in Pasadena.
