PREP SPORTS: Brabham earns softball honors

Berkeley's Raelee Brabham

Berkeley pitcher Raelee Brabham is one of the top softball players in the area. The verbal commit to Coastal Carolina is the leading pitcher for the Stags’ three-member staff on the mound. Brabham’s earned run average is 1.8 with 137 strikeouts in 16 games on the season (prior to Berkeley’s final two regular season games).

She’s also a proven threat in the box. The stud led Berkeley with 26 RBIs, three homers, and a .444 batting average with two games left in the regular season. Her slugging percentage was also the highest for Berkeley with .800.

Brabham earned the most valuable player honors in the Azalea Invitational Tournament where she led Berkeley to the second consecutive AIT championship.

“Her presence has been huge for us,” Kelly Dillon said of her starting pitcher. “Her coming out to the mound and how she sets the tempo for the game. When she’s on, everyone feeds off of that.”
