01) Shootout at Bar 52

A call for service at a Moncks Corner drinking establishment resulted in officers from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) finding three males laying in the middle of a parking lot, as all three had been shot during a reported fracas on the night of Jan. 28.

Upon his 1 a.m. arrival at Bar 52, located at 207 Davishill Lane, a BCSO corporal observed one victim with a gunshot wound to the chest and no pulse having CPR administered to him.

According to a corresponding police incident report, witnesses recounted that two-to-three Black males in the bar were "causing an issue," earlier that evening. When the three crime victims asked the men to exit the premises, a fight ensued with one of the Black males allegedly pulling out a firearm and firing off shots.

One of the two surviving individuals found laying in the parking lot told the authorities that he was able to hold one of the allegedly belligerent men down before he escaped with his partner and/or partners in a silver Ford F-150.

The victim with the chest wound was pronounced dead on the scene by an EMS crew, while the other two wounded subjects were transported to Trident Medical Center.

Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and forensics officers were also on-site to engage in further investigation.
