The Berkeley Chamber is hosting a Legislative Preview Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Berkeley/Charleston/Dorchester Council of Governments, 5790 Casper Padgett Way in North Charleston, featuring state Senate Majority Leader A. Shane Massey as guest speaker.
“With the South Carolina General Assembly meeting in a month, this is an excellent opportunity to hear what topics and issues the General Assembly will look at and prioritize for the new 2024 session,” said Elaine Morgan, Berkeley Chamber of Commerce CEO.
The 2023 Legislative session ended with significant investments in South Carolina’s economy and higher education. However, important legislation is still pending with rollover bills.
“This is a pivotal time in politics,” Morgan said. “The Berkeley Chamber is thrilled to have Sen. Massey as our speaker to share his thoughts on what is going to be on the main burner and what will wait until the 2025 session with this being an election year for House and Senate.”
Registration and networking begin at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and includes remarks from Massey and a moderated question-and-answer session.
