Berkeley County Government and A Father’s Place in Moncks Corner hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, April 3, to unveil the local nonprofit’s newly renovated facility at 255 N. Highway 52, Suite 7, in Moncks Corner.

Berkeley County’s Community Development Block Grant Program provided $75,397 to renovate the facility, including replacing the flooring, adding new kitchen countertops and appliances, creating a more spacious computer lab and more.

A facility tour and light refreshments followed the ceremony.

Like others around the state, the Moncks Corner chapter of A Father’s Place supports and strengthens families by helping men grow and counseling them in their vital role of fatherhood.

“Together, we can construct a world where every father has the opportunity to thrive, and every child has the support they need to succeed,” said Wallace Evans Jr., CEO of A Father’s Place.

Berkeley County Council member Steve Davis said fatherhood is essential and critical, and the mission the men from A Father’s Place are doing in Berkeley County “is awesome.”

“It can change the (direction) of so many lives,” Davis said.

A Father’s Place is part of the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families network.
