A St. Stephen man who severely beat a woman was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday, Aug. 26, according to the 9th Circuit Solicitorís Office.
Anthony Wayne Moody, of Harristown Road in St. Stephen, was arrested in September and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. He had been convicted of domestic violence several times before, according to the prosecution.
According to reports, Moody had severely beaten the woman with whom he had been involved in her bathroom, fracturing several bones after beating her about the face.
According to testimony the woman had recently ended her relationship with the man because of past incidents of domestic violence.
Circuit Judge Roger Young sentenced Moody to 10 years suspended to three years, followed by five years of probation.
