The Sumpter Free Health Clinic volunteer members recently had a surprise visit from Lt. Gov. Yancey McGill, Rep. Joe Jefferson and Mayor Johnny Rivers. They presented the Sumpter Free Health Clinic with a donation from the Town of St. Stephen Economic Development Fund.
A huge thank you to everybody who made this donation possible; it is much needed and greatly appreciated.
The Sumpter Free Health Clinic needs donations to help patients purchase their medication. To donate, checks should be made out to Sumpter Free Health Clinic and mailed to PO Box 340, St. Stephen, SC 29479.
The Sumpter Free Health Clinic is a 501c3 and your donation is tax deductible. A donation of $25 can make a big difference in the life of patients in need. The staff at the clinic purchases the prescribed medication mostly for infections, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes control.
Purchased also is over the counter medication that patients canít afford.
A message from Gov. Nikki Haley: Depression is real. One in every four people suffer from a mental health disorder, but if treated can lead a good positive life. There is a suicide every 13 minutes. There is help. Only half of those suffering with depression last year received treatment.
If you or someone you love seems to be in trouble, please call 1-800-273-TALK.
