The Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputy involved in an automobile accident last week has resigned after it was found that he was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident.
BCSO spokesman Dan Moon confirmed Monday that Deputy Justice Jenkins, 34, of Moncks Corner, is no longer with the BCSO.
Jenkins was cited Monday, a week after a Redbank Road wreck, by the S.C. Highway Patrol for driving under suspension, according to Berkeley County records.
Jenkins never told the BCSO that his license had been suspended Aug. 4, Moon confirmed. The department does drivers license audits twice each year.
No details were immediately available about why Jenkins’ license was suspended.
