All incoming Berkeley High freshmen should attend orientation, known as the Stag Stampede, 8-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the school, according to a statement released by the school.
At the Stag Stampede, freshmen receive schedules and textbooks, rent lockers, learn their way around campus, play team building games, and meet teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators.
The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Students should report to the cafeteria for schedule pickup upon arrival.
Bus transportation will be provided. Freshmen should be at their bus stops at 7 a.m. if in-town or 6:45 a.m. if out of town.
Students are encouraged to wear shorts, T-shirts, and tennis shoes. They should bring $5 if they’d like to rent a locker. Food will not be provided, but students can bring a snack or money for the vending machines.
