Accident claims Cross man

A 52-year-old Cross man died Saturday in a car accident in Pineville.

Anthony Brown, of Cross, was a passenger in a Lincoln Town Car traveling on Thomas Walters Road in Pineville when he died in an accident, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury reported.

According to Salisbury, the driver was transported to MUSC and his condition is unknown.

The accident happened on Aug. 2 just after 8 p.m.

The car ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned several times. Both Brown and the driver were ejected from the vehicle and were not wearing seatbelts, Salisbury confirmed.

His death has been ruled accidental. The Berkeley County Coronerís Office and the SC Highway Patrol investigated.
