The Berkeley Independent is relocating from its current Main Street address in downtown Moncks Corner adjacent to Unity Park to a new location at the corner of Main Street and Gulledge Street across from Farmers and Merchants Bank.
The Independent will open its doors at 100 Gulledge Street on Aug. 1.
All mailing addresses and contact telephone numbers will remain the same.
The Independent is picking up stakes after six-and-a-half years at its current location to accommodate the return to a fully-staffed office of reporters and sales representatives. According to publisher Steve Wagenlander, the move helps The Independent better service the community.
“The entire team at The Berkeley Independent is excited about our move to a larger and more prominently located office space,” he said. “As we have grown our news gathering and sales teams based in Moncks Corner over the last several months, the need for more space became obvious. This new office provides the space we need while keeping The Independent conveniently located in downtown Moncks Corner.”
The new office is located behind the law office of George Bishop.
