Cross woman killed when struck by truck

The South Carolina Highway Patrol, along with the Berkeley County Coronerís Office is investigating an auto-pedestrian fatality in the Cross community of Berkeley County Friday, July 18.

According to Bill Salisbury, Berkeley County Coroner, 27-year-old Inetha Pelote was killed when she was hit by a truck while walking down Trojan Road near her residence off Highway 45 in Cross around 11:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Pelote was transported to MUSC where she was pronounced dead at 1:18 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.

According to officials, the accident remains under investigation by the Berkeley County Coronerís Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
