Ellington Camp brings out the best of Berkeley

  • Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Dan Brown/Independent Camp co-founder Bruce Ellington was a fourth-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers.

The Ellington Elite football camp brought out the best of Berkeley on Friday, June 11.

With approximately 700 area youth football players attending the free camp, Andre and Bruce Ellington fulfilled a promise to Berkeley High School and the community of Moncks Corner when it came to giving back.

“We want to keep the football dream alive at Berkeley,” said Andre Ellington.

“I was one of those kids once,” said Bruce Ellington.

Five coaches participating in the camp are on NFL rosters going into the 2014 season as football players were able to meet their heroes up close and personal.

“This camp exemplifies what is Berkeley football,” said former Stags Coach Jerry Brown. “You couldn’t do this kind of camp at any other school, but Berkeley.”
