Eugene G. Baty



Yeoman First Class Eugene Gordon Baty, US Navy Ret., of Goose Creek, died Sunday morning, July 6, 2014 at the Hospice of Charleston. He was 81.

Surviving are his wife, Elsie Acerra Baty; two daughters, Debbie Boland of Columbia, and Desiree Baty Tillman of Charleston; two sons, Gordon W. “Chip” Baty of Linden, NC, and David J. Baty of Goose Creek; a brother, Ben Baty of Johanisburg, MI; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Stella Connor

Stella “Star” Jones Connor of St. Stephen died Friday morning, July 4, 2014 at her residence. She was 53.

Surviving are her husband, Brett O. Connor; a daughter, Whitney Connor of Moncks Corner; a son, Tracey B. Connor of St. Stephen; and nine grandchildren.

Jean M. Kierspe

Marilyn Jean McCracken Kierspe of Summerville died on Thursday afternoon, July 3, 2014 at the Hospice Center of Charleston. She was 84.

Surviving are her husband, George R. Kierspe; four sons, George Howard and his wife, Nancy, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, David and his wife, Sherry, of North Augusta, Tom and his wife, Kay, of Ravenel, and John and his wife, Ivette, of Beijing, China; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Kathleen M. Roberson

Kathleen McLeod Roberson of Moncks Corner, a retired secretary for 32 years for the South Carolina Department of Education, died Thursday morning, July 3, 2014 at her daughter’s residence. She was 84.

Surviving are a daughter, Pam R. Thomas and her husband, Allan, of Augusta, GA; an “adopted” daughter, Tanya Ware of North Augusta; four sisters, Janet M. Trembley and Thelma M. McLeod, both of Sumter, Barbara M. Morris of Summerton, and Gerry M. Timmons and her husband, J.B., of Pinewood; and two grandchildren.

Nellie C. Williams

Nellie Cross Stone Williams of Moncks Corner, a retired lunchroom supervisor for the Berkeley County School District, died Sunday morning, July 6, 2014 at her residence. She was 95.

Surviving are three daughters, Gwen S. Converse of Winter Haven, FL, Frances S. Workman and her husband, Charles, of Rock Hill, and Bobbie S. Smith and her husband, Joseph, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; a step daughter, June W. Hunter and her husband, Ken, of Columbia; two step sons, Larry Williams and his wife, Shirley, of Conway, and Dean Williams of Columbia; two sisters, Dorothy Clarke of Moncks Corner and Marvis Solley LoCicero of New Bern, NC; two brothers, Wilbur W. Cross of Cross, and George H. Cross, Jr., of Valdosta, GA; 15 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and five great-great-great grandchildren.
