Moncks Corner man arrested on cocaine charge

A Moncks Corner man was arrested on June 27 by agents with the Berkeley County Drug Enforcement Unit on several cocaine charges, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed.

The suspect, Curtis Lennard Smith, 43, was arrested at his residence on Longridge Road where agents were executing a search warrant.

During the search deputies found and seized 192.8 gross grams of cocaine, approximately 1 gross gram of cocaine base, a 40 cal Glock pistol, and almost $10,000 in U.S. currency.

Curtis is being charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute and Distributing Cocaine Base as well as Unlawful Possession of a Pistol and Felon in Possession of Pistol.
