As is their tradition, three extended families will gather in the Fellowship Hall at Friendship U.M. Church in Cross on Saturday, July 5.
Friends and faumily should all pack a picnic lunch and come to the church on Ranger Drive around noon. The first Saturday in July date is different than recent reunions.
Ten family members recently took a cruise from Charleston Harbor for fun and fellowship.
Those who enjoyed the cruise together were: O’Dell and Connie Shuler, Rae Beth Fultz and Darrell Poston, Lauren and Cody, Art and Dana Shuler, and Jay and Brant Shuler.
The Bierings also enjoyed the ocean and island breezes – Carmen and Chris Biering with their children Dillion, Nicholas, Marshall and Johnny. Carmen’s cruise was cut short when she discovered that her father Joe Veno was hospitalized for surgery. Carmen found a way to be in Charleston.
The other Bierings returned to Charleston after Carmen to go by the hospital to each personally check in with Grandpa Joe. By this time Joe was already getting along fabulously.
Many are now recent graduates of kindergarten, high school, college, or post graduate degrees.
Among those graduating were Joshua Fiddie from Berkeley High and Dillion Biering from St. John’s Christian Academy.
Dillion Biering ‘s family honored him along with three other graduates at the Moncks Corner Depot. Dillion will be attending the College of Charleston in the fall.
Josh Fiddie’s family invited friends to dinner at Trinity Fellowship Hall. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins arrived along with Aunt Mimi Suber from Beaufort. Josh will attend The Citadel this fall as his father did.
Friendship’s group called the Lunch Bunch met on the second Wednesday of June at noon for their monthly gathering . Everyone is welcome to join the group, which always enjoys games and prizes after a scrumptious meal. Mark the second Wednesday of July and bring a covered dish to join this community wide group.
The ladies of the community meet monthly at the Friendship Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome to join the group of which Lynn DeHay is president. Call Lynn for additional information.
Everyone is invited to send their news to Cross Currents. The deadline is Wednesday evening for the following week’s edition.
Thanks to all who regularly call, email, or hand us a note with news, and a special thanks to Yvonne Bradley!
