Moncks Corner Park and Recreation Athletic Director Matt Still announced the regular season champions for the spring sports leagues.
Champions for the Machine Pitch Baseball League were the Marlins.
According to Coach James Bunch, the competition among the machine pitch teams was fierce.
“This group of young men played together as a team, proving that baseball is a team sport. Everyone on the team was vital to their success- no exceptions.” For their hard work and “Never Give Up” attitude the Marlins were rewarded with a 7-2 record and the privilege to be called League Champions.
The Marlins players and coaches are: Dylan Kenny, Myles Waits, Jordan Glover, Dillon Law, Robert Szostak, Cyrus Lewis, Logan Hodge, Jake Lloyd, Blake Whaley, Emery Ling, Taishauyn Eadie, and Bryce Stewart. Coaches are Jermaine Glover, James Bunch, and Tommy Lewis.
In the Dixie Youth Baseball League, the Moncks Corner Royals were crowned champions.
Royals players and coaches are Coach Josh Kullnat, Coach Hugh Morgan, Mason Livingston, Jordan Kullnat, Peyton Morgan, Gerald Jenkins, Ty Haynes, Coach Richard Burn, John Messing, Jake Clark, Kyle Koon, Aaron Burn, Sean Ward, Connor Lockliear, Daniel Varner, and Gage Talbert.
The Moncks Corner Rockies were crowned the first 2014 Angels League champions. Coaches are Brian Guerry and J.P. Morgan. Players are Lisa Holley, Hayley Gaskins, Madelyn Fenstermaker, Ciera Fenton, Sara Harris, Hailey Hiott, Zada Morgan, Logan Guerry, Angel Segovia, Kennedy Olheiser, and Beth Mitchum.
The Dixie Minors champions were the Braves.
Team members are Joshua Legnard, Austin Hewette, Ethan Hill, Jackson Blackburn, Ashton Lewis, David Olsen, Hagen Jackson, Brody Clanton, and Jhalen Single.
“Our leagues were very competitive this year,” said Still. “These teams played hard and are deserving champions.”
Still said All-Star practice was to begin this week and on into July for the various age groups.
“We’ll be playing in all-star tournaments for the next month.”
