Family and friends came together on May 24 in the Day Dawn Baptist Church Fellowship Hall to celebrate the 80th birthday of Mrs. Jessie M. Prioleau Blanding.

The program began with the entrance of the celebrant, who was escorted into the hall by her great-grand children, her husband, Mr. Isaiah P. Blanding, along with her Pastor and cousin, Pastor and Mrs. Joshua Prioleau. The reverend Ronald Casey was also seated at the head table with the

Upon being seated at the head table, a Statement of the Occasion was presented by Rachel Blanding. This was followed with numerous family tributes which were initiated by her great-grand children, in the form of a Praise Dance.

Gifts of love in numerous forms were presented to the mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, church member and friend. The grandchildren made a special monetary presentation in the amount of $1,000, stating that the gift was just a small token of thankfulness for the many times she had sustained them through the provision of financial assistance while in school, or during other life events.

Following a delicious meal and numerous precious moments throughout the program, the lady of the hour, was called upon to share words of wisdom. It was truly a most beautiful program, and her children are commended on a job well done. It is also our pray that Mrs. Blanding will enjoy many more birthdays to come.
