A Moncks Corner woman was sentenced to 17 years in prison for a 2011 fatal DUI crash that claimed the life of 47-year old Candy Zoll.

Shana Cecil Robinson, 36, was found guilty of felony DUI when the car she was driving collided Zollís car off Broughton Road near the Moncks Corner Youth Fields complex.

According to court records, on Nov. 10, 2011, the night of the fatal crash, Robinson drank vodka at two bars before getting behind the wheel of her car and traveling down Broughton Road at speeds exceeding 75 mph, more than 40 mph above the posted 35 mph speed limit.

Prosecutors said a blood test exam showed Robinson was under the influence of alcohol, diphenhydramine (an antihystamine often referred to as Benadryl), trazodone, an antidepressant and clonozepam, which treats seizures and anxiety.
