Crime in the County

  • Tuesday, May 13, 2014

The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:

A resident called 911 after a simple assault occurred in his yard. The man heard a disturbance in the backyard of his Compton Drive residence near Moncks Corner on April 30 at about 7 p.m. A subject was arguing with a woman, who was found unconscious lying behind the house with a hose wrapped around her neck. The subject she was arguing with was her son, according to the complainant. The complainant told the deputy the subject uses meth and prescription pills.

On May 4 a deputy responded to South Live Oak Drive near Moncks Corner in regard to a larceny. The victim said she returned to her residence from an outing when her ex-boyfriend stopped by to take a pit bull they bought together and paid for together while they were dating. The deputy called the subject who said he was not going to return the dog because he paid for half of it.

On April 28 a woman was supposed to meet her baby’s father for a custody exchange. The victim and the subject got into a verbal altercation as the male subject came to the residence instead of meeting at a neutral place for the exchange. The subject got a baseball bat out of the victim’s car and struck her windshield with it. She subject then got into his blue Thunderbird and proceeded to do donuts in the victim’s front yard. The deputy noted the shattered windshield and tire tracks.

On May 3 a victim reported that someone stole all four wheels and tires of his black Cadillac Escalade that was parked at his dealership off North Main Street. The victim said the total value of the tires is $1,500.
