Woman carjacked in Cross

A woman was traveling back to Ranger Drive near Cross after stopping at the IGA in Eutawville when she saw a subject crossing the road.

The woman slowed down to a stop to allow the subject to cross at about 6:15 p.m. on May 7, according to a Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The suspect then pulled out a black revolver, pointed it at the victim and told her to get out of the truck.

The woman got out. As the subject got in the truck he noticed her small dog on the front passenger seat. He told her, “Get the dog or both of you . . .”

The victim took the dog from the truck and the subject fled toward Orangeburg County in her1989 Ford Ranger, according to the report.

The victim went to a nearby Dollar General to call 911. The truck was entered into NCIC. It is maroon in color, has faded decals on the side and is missing the front bumper.

The suspect is a black male, age 20 – 25, who had short hair and wore a dark shirt and dark shorts, according to the report.
