Mick Charles Blair

Mick Charles Blair of Summerville, a construction worker, died Sunday evening, April 20, 2014 in a Charleston hospital. He was 21.

Surviving are his son, Caden Riley Elliott of Summerville; his mother, Andrea Blair Toro and stepfather, Michael Anthony Toro, of Summerville; two brothers, Christopher Lee Chase Smoak and Michael Anthony Toro Jr., both of Summerville; and his grandfather, Charles Randolph Blair of Summerville.

Frances M. Duck

Frances Murray Duck of St. Stephen, a retired housekeeper, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2014 at her residence. She was 77.

Surviving are her daughter, Denise Scott and her husband, Jeff Jr., of St. Stephen; two sons, Tony Caddell of Gainesville, GA, and Bert Caddell of Indiana; a sister, Beverly Coil of St. Stephen; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Maebelle B. Mitchum

Maebelle Blackwell Mitchum of Bonneau died Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 in the Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center. She was 91.

Surviving are two daughters, Nadine M. Bennett and her husband, Tony, of Macedonia, and Mary Agnes M. Carter and her husband, Frank, of Plainwell, MI; two sons, Sammy Lamar Mitchum and his wife, Dean, of Macedonia, and James M. “Jim” Mitchum and his wife, Thelma, of Bonneau; a brother, Gene Blackwell of North Charleston; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Michael Edwin Myrick

Michael Edwin Myrick of Moncks Corner, a self-employed carpenter, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2014 at his residence. He was 58.

Surviving are his son, Michael Edwin Myrick Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa; three sisters, Libby Peck and her husband, Rodney, of Cross, Susan Jane Garner and her husband, Todd Lane, of Moncks Corner, and Jessica Lynn Ethridge and her husband, Aaron, of Severn, Md; and many nieces and nephews.

Sara Holland Stiles Russ

Sara Holland Stiles Russ died on April 25, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, N.C. She was 85.

She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Wilmington, N.C., the daughter of Sally Congleton Holland and Charles Pleasant Holland.

Sara was the wife of the late Roger Graydon Russ Jr. She was a homemaker and mother, a substitute teacher, cafeteria worker, private duty companion, passionate gardener and skilled seamstress. She enjoyed travel, crocheting, ceramics, reading and gambling in Las Vegas. She loved swimming and sunbathing, fishing on Johnnie Mercer’s Pier and crabbing in Masonboro Sound.

Sara will join her husband at Wilmington National Cemetery. Interment will be private.

Survivors include two brothers, Joseph Holland (Doris) of Wilmington, N.C., and Charles Holland (Caroline) of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; a sister, Jane Flowers of New York; two sons, Richard David Stiles (Karen) and Roger G. Russ III (Tatiana); two daughters, Katherine Gail Stiles of Ashland, Ore. and Julie Smith Hoff (Michael) of Cottageville, S.C.; grandchildren Alexander, Anastasia, Ezra, Jonathon (Kirsten), and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paige. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Eleanor Ruths. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice at www.hospiceandlife carecenter.org.
