Two Moncks Corner men were arrested April 23 after an armed robbery led police to a methamphetamine lab.
On April 17 Moncks Corner Police Department officers responded to the Scotchman on East Main Street in reference to an armed robbery.
A white male subject picked up merchandise to make a purchase. When the cashier rang up the sale the subject implied he had a weapon and demanded all the money in the register, according to a statement from MCPD.
The store’s security camera revealed two white male subjects had been to the store several times that morning and purchased beer while the second subject performed the armed robbery.
Both subjects fled the scene in a burnt orange/red SUV. MCPD released still photos of the subjects and received numerous tips from the community identifying the subjects, who had addresses on Joey Lane and Mullinax Lane.
On April 23 MCPD and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office executed arrest warrants on Joey Lane and found a methamphetamine lab at the residence.
James Jerry Craven Jr. was arrested and charged with armed robbery while armed or allegedly armed with a deadly weapon and attempting to manufacture methamphetamine. His bonds were set at $340,000.
Later that afternoon Jarrett Paunice Craven was arrested at his Mullinax Lane residence and charged with armed robbery while armed or allegedly armed with a deadly weapon, driving under suspension, hit and run, and driving a vehicle at a greater speed than reasonable under conditions.
His bonds have been set at $260,652.
