The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged Shelly Anne Taylor, 36, with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred Sunday night near Cypress Gardens Road.
When deputies responded to 303 Winnow Court in the Planters Trace subdivision, they found a male subject in the residence with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Taylor, 36, has also been charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Her boyfriend, Trent Steven Needler, 46, was transported to a local hospital where his condition is listed as critical, but stable, according to a BCSO statement.
This is not the first time deputies have responded to the address on Winnow Court. On three other occasions deputies responded to that location for criminal domestic violence calls and each time the victim would not cooperate with the sheriff’s office.
After an incident on Sept. 26, when deputies noted injury to Taylor, a warrant for Needler’s arrest was obtained on a charge of criminal domestic violence. That case is still pending in court.
