Flood warning issued for Moncks Corner

  • Saturday, April 19, 2014

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Moncks Corner and southeastern Berkeley County, and a flash flood watch for Dorchester County, after a “persistent band of moderate to heavy rainfall” throughout Friday and into Saturday morning.

The warning went into effect Friday night. The warning and watch will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

The NWS advised residents to “be prepared to protect life and property … especially in areas prone to flooding. If flooding develops … move to higher ground immediately. If driving, be prepared for flooded roadways and possible road closures.”
