“We’re training in preparation for a region championship,” said boys coach Gary Christensen. “We’re progressing well where we are winning a lot of the running and sprint events and are becoming competitive in the field events as well.”
Christensen said he hopes to see his jumpers in the long jump and triple long jump dominate at the county and region meets later this month.
“We are getting better as the season progresses,” he said. “The last two meets we have scored very well.”
On the girls’ side Jonnay Anthony was a two-time winner, taking first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.82 seconds and the top spot in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 73.01 seconds.
Cane Bay won the girls meet with 212 points over Woodland’s 164 points. Berkeley finished third with 83 points.
