PFC Brianna G. Fleshman-Baxter

PFC Brianna Gail Fleshman-Baxter, U.S. Army, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 2014, in a Texas hospital. She was 20.

Surviving are, her mother, Lisa C. Mason and step father, Mark Mason, of Moncks Corner; her father, Albert L. Fleshman, of North Charleston; her step parents, Oliver Osborne and his wife, Nancy, of Valdosta, GA; her husband, Patrick Baxter of Ft. Benning, GA; two sisters, Taylor M. Osborne and Taylor M. Mason, both of Moncks Corner; her grandparents, Karla G. Phillips of North Charleston, Arthur G. Phillips of Summerville, Jeanette G. Fleshman of Richmond Hill, GA, and Richard M. Mason of Columbia; two aunts, Nikki Haborak of Richmond Hill, GA, and Stephine Talmadge of North Charleston; two uncles, Matt L. Hill of North Charleston and Randy Cooper of Colorado; and her fur babies, Chi-Chi, Zeus, and Donna.

Robin Shaw Ferguson

Robin Shaw Ferguson of Jacksonville, FL died on April 3 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband Michael W. Ferguson.

A daughter of Laverne Dubose Shaw and William Boyd Shaw, she was born in Moncks Corner on Dec. 21, 1957. She spent most of her early years there before graduating from the University of South Carolina. She was loving and compassionate, and always cared for the wellbeing of others.

Precious Carter Gregory

Precious Carter Gregory of Moncks Corner, wife of the late Robert F. Gregory Sr., died on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant. She was 84.

Surviving are three sons, Robert F. “Bobby” Gregory Jr. and wife Lynn; James Kenneth Gregory and wife Sandra, and Claude D. Gregory; daughter Linda Holbrook and husband, Lee; six grandsons, James Gregory and wife, Kearney, Robby Gregory and wife, Kerstin, Kyle Gregory, Kendell Mahon Jr., Matthew Gregory and Austin Gregory; two granddaughters, Katy Mahon and Lasey Gregory; three great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Anna Lee and Hagen Gregory; a sister, Jeanne C. Bedsole; sister-in-law Sara Platt; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was held April 8, 2014 at Pinopolis United Church. Committal followed in Biggin Cemetery, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner.

Louise J. Harris

Louise Johnson Harris of St. Stephen, a former waitress for Bennett’s Restaurant in St. Stephen, died Thursday morning, April 10, 2014 in a Summerville nursing home.

She was 90.

Surviving are a daughter, Marie Rush of Summerville; a son, Arnold Barry Harris and his wife, Marikay, of Santee; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Doris Marion

Doris Marion of Bonneau, a retired school teacher for Berkeley County Schools, died Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2014 in a North Charleston nursing home. She was 83.

Surviving are a niece, Beth M. Kincaid of Bainbridge, GA; and two nephews, Bobby Marion of Charleston and Joe Marion of Summerville.

John W. Mitchum III

John Welch “Jay” Mitchum, III, of Cross, SC, a former manager of One Hour Martinizing , died Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2014 at his residence.

Surviving are his daughter, Mandy Nichole Morse of Goose Creek; his mother, Anne H. Mitchum of Cross; two sisters, Sandra Ballard of Ladson and Margie Sutton of Summerville; and a grandson.

Sandra Welch Owens of Bonneau Beach, a former security guard with Trident Security, died Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014 at her residence. She was 53.

Surviving are, her husband, Deryl E. Owens; her parents, George L. and Doris C. Welch of Macedonia; a daughter, Tonya D. Morley and her husband, Eric, of Jacksonville, NC; a son, Danny J. Dean and his wife, Amy, of Moncks Corner; two step sons, Deryl C. “D.J.” Owens of Norfolk, VA, and Wesley Owens and his wife, Sarah, of Pascagoula, MS; a sister, Kathy Britt of Macedonia; three brothers, Michael Welch and Kevin Welch, both of Macedonia, and Kenny Welch of Goose Creek; and eight grandchildren.

Frances M. Wilder

Frances McKnight Wilder, 69, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired bookkeeper for Trident Technical College, died Thursday evening, April 3, 2014 in an Augusta hospital.

Surviving are two sisters, Alva M. Williams and Phyllis G. McKnight, both of Moncks Corner; two brothers, Eddie McKnight and Jerry McKnight, both of Moncks Corner; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
