On April 9 at about 8:30 p.m., Berkeley County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting off Kitfield Road near Moncks Corner.

A large crowd had gathered in front of “Larry's.” The victim was lying on the front steps, according to an incident report.

The victim had a visible wound to his right knee. He said he was standing across the street near his vehicle attempting to help his friend get into his vehicle which he had locked himself out of.

A red Mitsubishi sedan occupied by two males pulled up. Its occupants were black males wearing camouflage masks. The victim said the passenger exited the vehicle and fired a handgun shot into his knee, according to the report.

The suspects then fled in the vehicle. The victim could not provide a further description of the suspects or the handgun.

The victim said his friend assisted him to the steps at “Larry's” where he stayed until authorities arrived.

The friend said he did not see anything aside from someone shooting the victim and fleeing in a red car.

EMS arrived and tended to the victim. Deputies searched the area where the victim was standing and found lottery tickets and loose change on the grass as if someone had emptied their pockets.

Deputies did not located any shell casings or blood.
