Cold-case murder of 5-year-old warms up with new tip

  • Monday, April 7, 2014

More than 25 years after the unsolved murder of a 5-year-old Horseshoe community boy, a new tip could move the case forward.

Justin Turner was found strangled to death and sexually assaulted in 1989.

Berkeley County investigator Capt. Rick Ollic told the Post and Courier that someone called with a new tip in the case last month.

Ollic would not go into details except to say the tip has led authorities to research someone’s name.
